Take Better Photos for Better Listings
Clear photos help LotJitsu create stronger titles and descriptions. They also give bidders more confidence in the listing.
Use Good Lighting
Photograph the item in a bright area. Avoid deep shadows and strong light directly behind the item.
Natural light or evenly distributed indoor lighting usually works well.
Keep the Camera Steady
Hold your device still while taking each photo. A blurry photo may prevent LotJitsu from recognizing important details.
Retake the photo when text, labels, or item features are difficult to see.
Fill the Frame
Move close enough for the item to be clearly visible, but do not cut off important parts.
The first photo should usually show the entire item.
Photograph Important Details
Take close-up photos of:
- Brand names
- Model numbers
- Serial numbers
- Signatures
- Labels
- Measurements
- Damage
- Wear
- Missing or broken parts
Use a Simple Background
Whenever possible, photograph the item against a clean, uncluttered background.
Remove unrelated objects that could confuse the listing or make the lot appear to include items that are not being sold.
Show the Actual Condition
Do not hide scratches, cracks, stains, rust, dents, or other visible damage. Clear condition photos reduce bidder confusion and possible disputes.
